The Football Association have announced that Cheshire based Select Group official Anthony Taylor will be the man in the middle when Chelsea and Arsenal meet in the Community Shield in early August. Taylor is earning a reputation both domestically and internationally as a very capable referee, and is starting to be trusted with bigger games. Last season, he was the man in the middle for the League Cup Final as Chelsea prevailed over Tottenham. 5 months later, Taylor will be back at Wembley taking charge of another Chelsea game and another London derby, but this time round it's Arsenal who the Blues are up against.
The FIFA official will be hoping for a controversy free afternoon to get the new season off to the best possible start.
